News comes and goes quickly. Remember the Phone Hacking Scandal? Or The Ansbacher Accounts?, the MP's Expenses scandal? How about David Drumm, Ray Burke, Willie O'Dea? What about Abu Graib, rendition, the blockade on Cuba, the attempted overthrow of Hugo Chavez, Contras, Weapons of Mass Destruction? No? Move on and Forget, Consume and Stay Silent. Or read someone like Jean-Paul Marat, whose writings still ring true over 200 years after his death.

The landscape of our world is populated with vast mountain ranges of myth, each one studiously inflated with bluster and probably bibulous froth by some "great man" or other. Most of these great men lived in an age before electricity, before mankind had the ability to use technology to seek out and share knowledge, before x-rays, radar, cat scanners, telephones, cameras, hubble space telescopes, or even reading glasses.

These myths are taught to us from an early age, and become part and parcel of the filter through which we view the outer reality. They affect how we inter-react with the world and with other people. They have become like crocodiles living deep within our unconscious minds, only rising up to drag the offending thought back down when something struggles on the surface of our consciousness.

Self education is the only way to sort the myths out from the reality (whatever that is!) - hours of research and comtemplation, by viewing the material with as little pre-judgement as possible, and making up your own mind for yourself. Review what Darwin, Malthus, Einstein, Newton, Leakey, Smith, Agassiz and all the rest of the "great men" expounded, and use the mass of resources now available on the internet and in the libraries to look at this web of interwoven ideas, these mountains of myth, under the new spolight of modern research.

Religion, of course, is one of the greatest myths, as expounded by pope leo "The myth of christ has served us well". You can pray to whichever god you want, but dont expect him to save you in your hour of need, as they don't do that for some reason. All religions have common threads: self-interest (help me god), compulsive-obsessive behaviour (do 5 hail marys every day so that the sky won't fall down), fear of the unknown (the dominicans had vivid imaginations to say the least), and delusions

Who owns the world (or the largest part of it?) The british queen perhaps. And who owns Britain and Ireland? Without land every human is a slave, having to earn money to buy food, instead of growing it on his own land. "Save our countryside" the sycophants shout. Next time you travel down the motorways, what do you see? Miles and miles of empty fields. Who owns them? Why are the people herded into the concrete jungle? Nothing to do with Enclosures or the grindstone of the Industrial revolution?

Is the Earth the centre of the universe? Is the Sun powered by nuclear energy? Were the craters on the moon (and indeed on the Earth) caused by bombardment? An electric universe? Check it out

Did the history of man really start in Eden? Or as a monkey? Or were there ancient civilisation that have been destroyed?

Where does money really come from and who controls it? What is the reason for the collapse of Western Capitalism?

Heard of Echelon, Total Information Awareness System, Carnivore, the NSA, the NRO? These people have TOO much time on their hands, and too much money to play with. Maybe using all that money to eradicate hunger, provide housing and welfare and healthcare to the dusty masses of impoverished people worldwide would be a better option than constantly bombing them back to the Stone Age. Something like the Cubans do for free, for example. If they can afford it, think of what the USA and Europe could do!

Ever wondered why the dictatorships in South America used to wear jackboots and goosestep? Heard of about Project Paperclip, or the early development of the CIA? Or Project Artichoke / MKUltra? Come on people, get with the programme!

The Occupation of Wall Street - Sept 25

After 7 days of occupation, finally there is a mention in the mainstream press - mainly about unrurly protestors being arrested. Did that happen in Green square, Egypt, or in Spain? Good God, they're asking for real democracy!

It was just a mistake that Yahoo blocked their emails.

The capitalist system must not be questioned; it's a democracy for god's sake! Bonuses Must be paid.

Gary Null's  "In the Name of Freedom, Peace, and Democracy"

These 2 podcasts are a concise history of the real foreign policy persued by the powers that be over the last number of decades. Forget about the rhetoric that flows endlessly out of their mouths, discover the reality of what has actually occurred. Gary's incisive research is excellent. UN Speeches -The Headmasters walk out (as usual) - Sept 23

I wonder how many of them actually bothered to read Ahmeninajad's speech? Would they even have time, with all the Lunches they have to eat? Would they even care what he said? I think not.

As far as giving Palestine recognition as a state, they have only been waiting for 30 years and have no oil. Read Mahmoud Abbas's speech, and see what he has to say on the subject.

Luckily America has a democratic power of veto (their vote counts for more, because they're worth it), so Obama's speech is nothing surprising. The same goes for Netayahu's. They are only a few pages long.

This site shows a few statistics, and this has few maps that may make the subject of that conflict a bit clearer. Remember Kurdi Bear or brave Rachel Corrie? Heard about the Israelis who rebuild demolished Palestinian homes?

The Libyan rebels? Well that's another matter altogether. They have already been recognized without any elections or suchlike. They Shall have a democracy, at any cost, although it is difficult to see how civilians are being protected by bombing them. And what's all this about Libya already being a democracy? People voting without politicians? Such rotten behaviour! Only the Headmasters know what is good for you.

News coverage of Ireland's upcoming budget - Sept 8

There has been a constant wittering on the news channels about the upcoming budget. Everything is presented as being in a state of uncertainty. Why don't they (and you) just read the agreement with the IMF? It is all clearly presented in that document.

Too much to read? Too depressing? Poor you, roll over and go back to sleep, or go and watch an episode of coronation street. What are you doing here anyway?

Lies about Libya - Sept 8

This article tells us what we need to know about the news media's coverage of Libya, and a lot of other facts about the country. Notice that the mainstream news has already gone quiet about it.

Spooks - Sept 6

All this talk of spooks in the UK and elsewhere co-operating with spooks in Libya reminded me of the Lockerbie bombing and the murder of PC Yvonne Fletcher.

How could we know what really happened? All we can be sure of is that all governments have consistently lied to us again and again.

Don't you just Love Facebook? - Sept 3

Who would have thought it?

They've only gone and made up false facebook accounts to manipulate events.

And silly me thought that all egyptians syrians iranians et al tweeted in english. Doooh!

Lizzie Phelan - Sept 2

As one of the few independant reporters in Libya, Lizzie and others were eventually able to get to safety after being threatened. Great news that these brave people avoided whatever fate the rebels had in store for them. Read the story here

Lizzie's wbsite has been shut down since the invasion of Tripoli began, but you can see one of here last reports from Libya here

Lizzie Phelan

Thanks to Lizzie and the other independant reporters for their bravery. I wish there were more like them, and less of the mainstream rats who spread whatever lies they are told.

NATO surpasses itself - Aug 28

In the name of preventing a humanitarian crisis, Nato have gone one better and produced a real humanitarian disaster. No water, no food, armed gangs roaming the streets, summary executions, hospitals overwhelmed, massive civilian casualties, continual aerial bombardment by Nato warplanes, you name it, they are doing it.

A great success!

Neutral in Shannon -August 2011

Showing a marvellous interpretation of the meaning of "neutral", the Irish government did not want American military transport to cease using Shannon airport as a stopover. Would it be the same for Libyan military, or Venezuelan?

Looking at the figures presented in tables in the RTE article, there is a discrepancy between tonnes of "cargo" arriving, and departing. What military stores are off-loaded in Ireland which weigh in total 243 tonnes? Are they being stored in Shannon?

The London Riots -August 2011

photo of damage from NATO bombardement

It seems strange that HM government can mobilise 16,000 (yes thousand) police people to cope with a bit of looting and a few burnt buildings (cost: £100 million?) and arrest over 1000 people for petty crimes, when they havent been able to arrest anyone over the looting of the public purse of £850 billion by the financial markets and various banks, nor have they mobilised even 1600 police people to investigate those crimes. That's the equivalent of 800+ brand new hospitals that could have been built this year. Think of the employment that would have created. Maybe the rioters could have gotten jobs out of it.

The damage done to property in London during those riots is not even as severe as ONE Nato airsrike, and there have been over 1500 of them on Libya alone in the last few months. Every one of those strikes has destroyed buildings, infrastructure, and people. But nobody complains, and the press slithers over the reports, making out that it is quite normal.

David Norris -July 2011

Yes, David Norris may have gotten "caught with his trousers down" for pleading clemency for his boyfriend, but he wasn't president then . Whereas Moshe Katzav was president of the very country that leaked the document against Norris, and has been convicted of rape. No one in the press thought to mention the fact though.
