 Buy 'Fern Woman'
2004 Fabric painting, hand quilting on cotton size: 50 cm x 58 cm € 300
In the Burren, Co. Clare are limestone grykes, or fissures in the bedrock. Often, small plants like ferns flourish in the microclimates that these afford. While sketching a piece like this, gradually an image of a woman formed itself and became the natural spirit of the place, flourishing with its own life.

 Buy'Fossil Record'2005 Fabric painting, hand quilted size 63 cm x 63 cm price € 250

 Buy'The Hungry Grass'2005 Fabric painting, hand quilted , on linen 55cm (w ) x 49 cm( l) price: € 200
The story of the 'Hungry Grass' was told to me by an old friend in Glencolmcille, Co. Donegal.
It describes certain places where a walker might feel a sense of dislocation, and a feeling of great incapacitating hunger. The walker would collapse in a faint, unless they had the sense to turn their coat inside out and thus overcome the spell the fairies had put on the place.

 Buy'Leaves (After Matisse)'Linen, wool,Appliqué, piecing, hand quilting, machine quilting size:118 cm x 120 cm € 300
After studying the way that Matisse used outlines of leaves in his paintings and prints, I was inspired to take leaf shapes and manipulate them into new formats. I especially liked combining the terracotta and tourquoise shades in this piece. I have used Irish linen and fine Donegal tweed in this piece.

Buy'Tribal Rivers'2005 Fabric painting, appliqué, and hand quilting on cotton size 49 cm x 55 cm € 150

Buy'Victorian Wreath'2005 Soft edge appliqué, machine embroidery, hand quilting , cotton, on cotton size:52 cm x 52 cm Price € 100
This piece was created by fabric collage, taking flowers from many different fabrics, and machine embroidering them onto a backing piece. It was then hand quilted. It reminds me of the delicate Victorian wreaths made from needlepoint or embroidery which were a feature in houses a hundred years ago.
